This past month at B Loved Ethiopia, we’ve continued to see meaningful progress in both the daily lives of our children and the development of our programs.

• Academic Support: Students are receiving consistent tutoring through both school-based sessions (3x weekly) and group home sessions (2x weekly), with a strong focus on improving English skills. Our social workers are also regularly visiting schools to monitor progress and strengthen relationships that support each child’s success.
• Preparing for the Future: Over 15 students are currently in the process of obtaining national IDs which is an important step that allows them to sit for key exams and continue their education.
• Holistic Care: Children are actively engaged in psychosocial support through counseling, mentorship, and group activities, helping them build confidence, process experiences, and grow emotionally.
• Life Skills in Action: Daily routines in the group homes include hands-on learning like cooking, cleaning, and helping caregivers, building responsibility and independence.
• Community & Connection: Socialization remains a priority, with children participating in play and activities alongside peers from local schools, churches, and the surrounding community.
• Improved Living Conditions: At our Sodo center, a major upgrade to the livestock waste management system has created a cleaner, healthier environment for both the children and the community.
• Community Impact: In partnership with local government, B Loved supported International Women’s Day by providing essential food supplies to families in need.
• Looking Ahead: Construction continues at the Bishoftu Children and Youth Empowerment Center, with a focus on completing dormitories and final details. We are also continuing to strengthen income-generating activities to ensure long-term sustainability.
