We hope this update finds you well and filled with the same joy that has filled our organization throughout the past month. Here’s a glimpse into what we’ve been up to at B Loved:
New Beginnings: Baptisms We are thrilled to share that Yonatan, Bushere, Martha, Lemlem, Abel, and Tamirayehu recently took a significant step in their spiritual journeys by getting baptized. It’s moments like these that remind us of the impact of love, support, and faith in shaping the lives of the children we serve.
Dairy Farming Success Our dairy farm continues to flourish, with a production of 1,686 liters of milk from our cows. This wholesome milk not only nourishes our children but also contributes to our sustainability efforts by providing us with an extra source of income. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our team in ensuring the success of our dairy farming activities.
Ethiopian Christmas In January, we celebrated Ethiopian Christmas, also known as Ganna or Genna. This special occasion was marked by traditional meals, religious observances, and heartfelt gatherings with our extended B Loved family. Through learning about Ethiopian traditions and preparing delicious dishes, we enjoyed a wonderful time together as a family.
Bishoftu Update
Expanding Our Family: New Children Admission Despite facing some challenges with admissions, we remain committed to providing a loving and supportive home for vulnerable children. While we were unable to welcome four children from Adama due to educational requirements, we continue to work closely with relevant authorities to ensure that every child in need finds refuge and care within our organization.
Providing Care and Support Our dedicated staff, both at the head office and within our projects, continue to provide essential psychosocial support to all our children. With unwavering love and compassion, we create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported, especially during festive occasions like Christmas.
Building for the Future Construction on our B Loved Holistic Center is progressing. We’re excited for the work being done and know that this center will serve as a beacon of hope and empowerment for the communities we serve. See the updated photo below. We are also excited about harvesting wheat this season and growing our poultry farm. We love that it's a family effort and that the kids can join in watering the plants and watching things grow from their love and care!
Welcoming New Team Members We are delighted to welcome Ms. Mulu Gabire as our new storekeeper, entrusted with coordinating our poultry farming, dairy farming, and agriculture activities. Additionally, Mr. Dinku joins our team to oversee poultry farming operations, further strengthening our commitment to sustainable livelihoods and community development.
